ABVI is grateful for the support of its partners — the many businesses and organizations in Rochester and beyond that contribute to our mission and invest in our many programs and services.

Here are some of our outstanding partners:

Freedom Scientific, Inc.

Freedom Scientific is the maker of such assistive technology as JAWS, MAGIC, and numerous other devices used by people who are blind or visually impaired to successfully live their lives. The software programs sold by Freedom Scientific allow people who are blind the ability to “hear” what is on their computer screen using a screen reader called JAWS. MAGIC is a screen magnification program, enabling users with low vision to customize their computer to the size, color, and contrast that best fits their level of visual impairment. These products are used throughout ABVI and Goodwill of the Finger Lakes, allowing our employees who are blind or visually impaired to do their jobs as their sighted peers do.

In addition to supporting the blind community through its products, Freedom Scientific supports ABVI through their corporate sponsorships of our Visionary Gala. These contributions directly impact those who are blind or visually impaired as they strive to be independent and give back.

Thank you Freedom Scientific for believing in our mission!

OcuSight Eye Care Center

OcuSight and ABVI have been partnering for many years to bring vision rehabilitation and hope for individuals in our community who have experienced vision loss. Through its corporate sponsorships, OcuSight has been supporting our annual gala since 2003. In addition, the eye doctors at OcuSight recognize ABVI can help their patients to live independently after a diagnosis of a blinding eye condition.

OcuSight’s CEO, Sharif Eassa, shared this about ABVI: “OcuSight Eye Center is very proud to support ABVI in its mission to provide critical services to the blind and visually impaired.  Dealing with patients with visual disturbance every day makes us keenly aware of the daily struggle your patients face.  No one in the Rochester area is better suited to assist these patients and provide them with the necessary resources to live a full and enriched life.  We are grateful to ABVI for all they do for the community!”

Thank you OcuSight for being a loyal partner!
